My bougainvillea did not bloom this year :(?

i moved it last year because it was in a wet spot and the leaves dropped. i put it in partial shade because it gets REALLY hot where i live. does anyone have any advice? it's one of my favorite plants. i don't want it to die.

i could very possibly have been the shock from the move... some plants don't bloom a couple of years after being sent into a shock that could possible be present in this case... the plant was already not doing good and so it was making chemical adjustments to being too hot/ too wet... then you moved it and now it is like WTF i am in shock! if it still looks healthy then maybe it will do better next year... how ever some bulbs just don't bloom every year i know my mom's bougainvilleas only come out like every other year at best... once they went 3 years without coming up because the season was just too dry and hot and we thought they were dead... but then they came up on the fourth
Reply:you defineatly have good taste. since they are a tropical variety maybe they will start growing more and faster now that the seasons are turning... do you garden a lot? Report It

Reply:i piddle around in my yard. last year i planted some deep purple verbenas and planted some new trees. i live in a new neighborhood, so, it definitly needed some depth and color. every year i do something different with the flowers. tried to grow some artichoke this year too. Report It

Reply:just moved out in a hot place..it can stand in a hot area.

Hope it survived.
